There is a ferry just 5 minutes walk from the cottage. The ferry runs all day to Padstow. In the evening there is a small night ferry for people who wish to visit one of Rick Stein's many restaurants.
The village, which is within walking distance, has everything you need including a butcher's, bakers, fresh fish shop, fish & chip shop, pasty shop and even a spa which is open from 8am to 8pm.
The St Enedoc golf club is a Championship links course and is just 5 minutes away. It has 2 courses, one of which is ideal for the not so experienced golfer and at a minimum cost.
Slightly further afield, the Eden project is 40 minutes away and Lands End is an hour away. There are trains to London from Bodmin Broadway which is 30 minutes away.
